Join Our Team: Move Faith Forward
Faith Forward Ministries, Inc. is powered entirely by people like you. We have no paid staff, which means every single hand organizing a food drive, answering a call, or packing a crisis kit belongs to a dedicated volunteer.
Whether you have a few hours a month or a few days a week, your unique talents, professional skills, and compassionate heart can make a massive difference right here in Westmoreland County.
Where Can You Serve?
We have a variety of volunteer roles tailored to different comfort levels, schedules, and skills. Look through our core service areas to see where you fit best:
Community Outreach & Event Teams
- Street Outreach: Join our "Random Gifts of Kindness" teams to distribute food, hygiene supplies, and blankets directly to individuals experiencing housing insecurity.
- Project Stand Crew: Help us plan, set up, and run our massive annual community awareness events. Roles include logistics, greeting attendees, managing registration, and distributing educational materials.
- Food Pantry Logistics: Help accept, sort, pack, and distribute emergency grocery boxes for local families experiencing extreme poverty.
Angel Arms Family Support
- Supply Organizers: Help manage our inventory of donated baby items. This involves sorting clothing by size, checking expiration dates on formula, and organizing diaper drives.
- Family Encouragement: Help assemble "Crisis Supply Care Packages" for foster, biological, or kinship families who are stepping up to care for infants and children in recovery.
Behind-the-Scenes & Administrative Support
- Office & Tech Help: Assist with data entry, sending out donor thank-you notes, managing schedules, or helping keep our digital resources organized.
- Spiritual & Peer Support: If you have experience in recovery or a background in ministry, you can volunteer to help facilitate peer support groups or provide a listening ear to those navigating tough seasons.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a specific background or religious affiliation to volunteer?
Not at all. While we are a faith-based ministry, we welcome anyone with a compassionate heart who shares our mission of treating individuals experiencing addiction and poverty with dignity, grace, and respect.
Can groups or families volunteer together?
Yes! We love hosting church groups, local businesses, school clubs, and families. Group volunteering is especially helpful during large donation sorting days or setup for Project Stand.
What is the time commitment?
We are incredibly flexible. Some of our volunteers serve multiple days a week, while others join us once a month for specific events or donate an hour from home helping with digital tasks. Any time you give is a gift.
